What Happens When You Lose Your Luggage

What happens when you lose your luggage? I love flying non-stop! However sometimes you just  can't get from here to there without stopping somewhere. I pride myself in my packing abilities, after all I've been a flight attendant for 25 years. Just the essentials, rolled, tucked and travel sized.  But when our luggage didn't make our flight I realized how little you really need and even I am guilty of overpacking! After a few frustrating minutes of watching the luggage carousel circle around for the tenth time, and finally stop, without spitting out any of our five checked bags, we filed for our lost luggage and had the taxi stop at Walmart on our way to the hotel in Kauai.  My husband who is the most impatient shopper gave us all exactly five minutes to grab what we needed for that night and the next day as we were assured our luggage was due in late that night or by the following day.  Five minutes! I can spend a whole day at Target, five minutes? Is he crazy?  So we each grabbed a swim suit, sundresses for Chaya and I, while Zak and Bob grabbed shorts and t-shirts, underwear and toothbrushes. I also grabbed sunscreen  and flip-flops (we're in Hawaii).  When our baggage showed up late that night, I realized how much I overpacked. I didn't need five swimsuits, five sundresses, ten t-shirts. I did bring a few key pieces of my jewelry and realize that by switching up earrings, a necklace and a fabulous cocktail ring, it can really change your whole look with just s simple black t-shirt dress. I chose my Large Origin Pendant with multi strands of cotton cording, with Medium Halo Earrings and a Luminous cocktail ring for an edgy look. Tomorrow, I'm wearing my small Origin necklace with delicate Origin teardrop earrings. The moral of this lost luggage story is: pack less, and enjoy more! Aloha!
