For The Hostess with the Mostess

This time of year provides plenty of opportunity for anxiety provoking feelings.  The office party, too much family "together" time, overcrowded shopping centers, and traveling just to name a few. The one situation that never causes me anxiety is what to bring to the host/hostess when attending a holiday party when the typical wine, cookies or candies just aren't original enough for you. Sometimes one size doesn't fit all, but my favorite hostess gift to give and receive is a Diptyque candle, and it fits me perfectly, in any fragrance, but especially holiday scented ones, like Epinette and Perdione.  Anything that makes my apartment smell more like Christmas. And it comes beautifully packaged so all you have to do is put a ribbon around the box with a nametag (so your grateful hostess will know who it came from.)

Candles can add ambience to any room and make it feel more warm and inviting. And you can never have too many. Which is why it is such a perfect hostess gift.

I'm also a big fan of Glassybaby candle holders, available at Glassybaby.com and at Glassybaby retail stores.  They are hand blown, come in a hundred different colors, take a regular votive candle and produce the most amazing glow.  My current obsession is Happiness that is a cherry red.  Perfectly priced at $44.

Bath and Body works has a nice selection of sugary sweet candles that make you feel like you walked into Santa's workshop.  Marshmallow Peppermint and Frosted Cranberry are good enough to eat, and are only $9.50. Great for mixing and matching!

If you don't want to wait for your guests to provide you with that 'scent'sational holiday aroma and you dont have time to whip up a batch of gingerbread cookies then you can provide you own with Glade's Apple Cinnamon, Holiday Cheers and Holiday Baking which has hints of vanilla, pecan and nutmeg! Delish!

So go forth with confidence and leave the guilt ridden anxiety of hostess gifting to someone else.
